Joss Whedon’s “Horrible” Musical Comedy

There are few names in the business that elicit as much love as Joss Whedon, the creator of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.”

So Whedon fans will be thrilled that he has another project, in addition to his new FOX show, “Dollhouse.”

During the Writers’ Strike, Whedon wrote “Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog.” It’s a musical comedy that was filmed in six days by “a crew of longtime Whedon loyalists,” according to TVGuide.com. It stars Neil Patrick Harris as Dr. Horrible, “a wannabe mad scientist who’s perfecting a “freeze ray.” The musical also stars Felicia Day (“Buffy”) as the love interest and Nathan Fillion (“Firefly”) as the arch-nemesis.

You can see “Dr. Horrible” only on-line beginning July 15th, when the first segment becomes available. Parts two and three will be available July 17th and 19th. The musical will be on the site, www.drhorrible.com, through July 20th.

Whedon’s ultimate goal is a DVD with a musical commentary of the musical…
