Did NBC almost lose a "Bionic" star?

One of this week’s “TV Guide” covers features two of the stars from NBC’s most buzzworthy new show, “The Bionic Woman”—Michelle Ryan and Katee Sackhoff.

But what “TV Guide” didn’t know (besides the fact that NBC would add Isaiah Washington to the cast a week later) is that Katee Sackhoff had not officially signed to be a part of the show…

Last week, after her absence from the “Bionic Woman” panel at Press Tour, Katee Sackhoff and NBC finally agreed to terms for a recurring role on the show.

There was some speculation that Sackhoff was upset about the hiring of Isaiah Washington since she has become somewhat of a gay icon due to her role as Starbuck on “Battlestar Galactica.” No word on whether there is any truth to that speculation…

It’s interesting that NBC made Sackhoff such an important element of the show without making sure she would actually be a part of it…
